This is what comes of watching documentaries about plants. Mmmm, David Attenborough, keep talking dirty to me.
-Plants are very similar to animals - they cooperate, fight, claim territory - but on a much, much slower schedule.
-Flowers are not for human gratification. Nor are they for insects or animals. The pollinators are all the servants; the plants are the masters (and with insects, often they don't even give a reward of nectar or fruit).
-Many plants have mechanisms in place to ensure they're not self-pollinated. What if Ivy does too? It would explain why she thinks she's infertile. But then, she's the only one of her kind...
-Venus fly traps are kind of seriously terrifying. Pitcher plants, also.
-Plants go to ridiculous lengths to lure insects to pollinate them. It's almost like they're trolling the poor things. 'Here, it's a girl wasp! LOL FOOLED YOU here have a load of pollen.'
-Amazon water lilies can be six feet across. Also, they can support the weight of a human baby.
-No matter how unbelievable some of Ivy's creations seem, they all appear to be completely reasonable based on the abilities of actual plants, and I am never going to run out of freaky things for her to do.
-Ever.
-Strangler figs are probably a better cage option than vines, all things considered.
-WOW PLANTS ARE SCARY.
